MWEA IRRIGATION FARMER IS AMAZED BY RUTUBA ORGANIC FERTILIZER

Recently on visit to Mwea Rice Growers Multipurpose Co-op. Society Ltd, we had a time to speak to the agricultural officer who narrated to us how a farmer who had used Rutuba Organic fertilizer was shocked. In Mwea, farmers have invested heavily in the growth of rice. Being the main cash crop that drives the Mwea economy, farmers pay a lot of attention to the caring of the paddy. Now each farmer has at least four acres that they plant paddy. The agricultural officer told us that a farmer had become concerned that he had harvested fifteen bags of paddy from his one acre instead of the normal sixteen bags when the normal inorganic fertilizers are used. However, on weighing his paddy, he was shocked to learn that the average weight of Rutuba grown paddy was one hundred kilograms as opposed to eighty kilograms of the paddy grown using inorganic fertilizer. In the end, though he had less bags, he had more rice and earned more as opposed to those that used traditional inorganic fertilizers. This was consistent with the research findings that have established that grains grown with Rutuba Organic fertilizer and foliar feed are of higher quality and have a higher weight per grain.
